You will recline with blankets on a comfortable treatment chair or massage table (dependant on venue), with shoes
and socks removed and with a choice of soft music in the background.  Loose clothing is recommended as the lower
calves will also be worked and, trousers will need to be rolled up. Using hands only to apply pressure, the reflexologist
begins treatment, working on the feet, or hands and noting problem areas if necessary.

HOW LONG WILL A TREATMENT LAST ?
Please allow 75 minutes for your first reflexology session.
An initial consultation and assessment will take place and details of any medical history will be taken into account;
ensuring all life style factors are considered.  This will also help to determine your requirements /expectations and
create a treatment plan that is better tailored to your needs.

All subsequent treatments will usually last 45 minutes.

WHAT WILL I FEEL DURING A TREATMENT ?
For each person the application and the effect of the therapy is unique. There may be some discomfort felt in places
if there is congestion or, crystal deposits present under the skin. This is fleeting and does not indicate a problem but
a blockage similar to knot felt in tired congested muscles, (it may feel like sharp needles). However,  usually the client
will feel no pain or discomfort and for the most part the sensation is both pleasant ,soothing and highly relaxing.

You should tell the therapist when you feel anything that is sore, tender or sharp so that the pressure in this area can
be altered for your comfort.  The reflex point will then be noted and maybe worked on a little more.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR ?
Loose comfortable clothing is recommended.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED ?
Whilst there are often immediate improvements experienced from reflexology you can generally expect to
have a course of 4-6 treatments. Thus allowing for more significant benefits.  You may then choose to have a
treatment once a month for general maintenance of your well being.

Some people simply use reflexology as a preventative measure and have treatments as and when suits.

It’s up to you.......

HOW WILL I FEEL AFTER THE TREATMENT ?
The experience differs from person to person, but generally most people notice a sense of well being and
relaxation.  Some people feel invigorated with an increase in energy.  A very few however may feel
subsequently lethargic,  nauseous or even tearful, but this is transistory and will quickly pass.

You may experience one or more of the following reactions within the first 24 hours following the treatment:

Deep relaxation
Sleepiness
Increased flatulence
Slight nausea
Mild cold/  flu symptoms
Hot or shivey
Symtoms of sinusitis
Emotional
Elated
Increased energy
Deep night’s sleep
Headache
Urination immediately following treatment

Not everyone will experience these reactions and please do not be alarmed if you do experience some of the
more negative sounding ones. They are all part of the healing process and a sign that the treatment is working.
It is also vital information which you should pass on to your reflexologist as it shows how your body is responding
to treatment.  (At the end of the treatment any reactions are noted and evaluated).

YOU MUST SEEK MEDICAL ADVICE IF YOU HAVE ANY SERIOUS HEALTH CONCERNS.
